coe-fac: Faculty Performance Evaluation Window

Good afternoon, COE Faculty,



Next week the College of Education will begin this year's faculty performance evaluation process.



The faculty performance evaluation process and timeline, which starts each Winter and concludes in the Spring*, will be shared with Department Heads and Unit Directors and a communication will be sent directly to each faculty member who requires a review this year.  Faculty scheduled for a performance evaluation this year will receive an email in mid-February with information about the performance evaluation process and timeline.



Performance Evaluation Schedules:



  *   Career Instructional Faculty are reviewed each year for the first three years of employment and then move to a triennial review, starting in year 6.  The period of review for all faculty will still be January - December, but a triennial review will review activities and performance over the span of the 3 prior calendar years.



  *   Career Research Faculty are reviewed annually with the period of review being January - December of the year prior.



  *   Untenured (tenure track) faculty will be reviewed annually, with the exception of the year in which they receive a mid-tenure review.



  *   Tenured Faculty will receive 3- and 6-year post tenure (major) reviews.



  *   Ongoing pro tem faculty are reviewed once every 3 years after the position has been designated as ongoing.



*Note: Instructional Pro tem faculty are evaluated at the end of their contract period and so may receive evaluations on a different timeline.
