Dear members of the Senate Exec,

I attach a first draft of the Senate Resolution for which we gave notice at the last Senate meeting. This draft is based on the template offered by the higher education committee of the African American Policy Forum (AAPF), with modifications that specify our ongoing efforts at the University of Oregon both to affirm academic freedom and to specifically study and teach about the history and ongoing relevance of structural racism in in the US.

Please have a look and be prepared to discuss at Wednesday’s meeting.

Best,
Spike

Spike Gildea
Professor of Linguistics
President of the University Senate, 2021-2022
