[Uopatos] PDACC Meeting

Hi, folks.

I'm sorry for the late notice. Yesterday we talked about a PDACC meeting happening tomorrow, Friday 13th in the Ford Alumni Center - Ballroom.

The Strategies Groups will be reporting out, briefly for 5 minutes. Then SG members will have the opportunity to work with PDACC committee members. SG involvement is to leverage the attendance of SGs with the VPs, Deans and PDACC members to address the opportunities and gaps in creating a shared vision for supporting diverse students/faculty and staff. The agenda is attached.

I was asked to attend along with Antonio, but we would like to have a cross representation of LSG members, specifically a couple professors. Perhaps someone from the events committee, and the research committee? There should be at least 3-4(max) members who should attend.

I can report out (or someone else) for the 5 min. and can put together what they are asking, but would like additional support for the committee work.

Can you please reply back to Antonio and myself and let us know if you can attend?

Rich, diverse student experience & Student Access and Success

The University of Oregon has four strategies groups or employee resource groups for Native, Black, Latino and Asian/Pacific Islander Faculty, with the idea of working to improve retention, recruitment and success for students, faculty and staff of color.  With the exception of Native Strategies which was founded several years ago, they are new and have not been connected to other entities on campus with similar mission. The purpose of this work session is for PDACC members to learn more about the work that each group is doing to help Strategies groups identify points of collaboration across campus with one another and with new partners in ways that help them to accomplish their missions.
