travelnews: Travel Reminders Amidst Airline Schedule Cancellations and Delays

Hello UO Travelers and Delegates,

Some reminders as we move forward into the weekend amidst the government closure and airline cancellations and delays.

Travelers are encouraged to check their airline's website for information on their specific flight to determine if their travel can commence as planned, if they need to consider an alternative flight itinerary or alternate airline to accommodate their business travel, or if the most favorable option is to cancel their trip completely. Direct Travel is also a resource should you have questions-please see their contact information below.

Commencing with Travel:

  *   Check the airline to make sure your flights are still commencing as scheduled
  *   Arrive at the airport early, giving yourself extra time to navigate through security
  *   Contact Direct Travel to manage itinerary changes, if necessary

Trip Cancellation:

  *   Contact Direct Travel to cancel your flight and inquire about options to have the airline refund the airfare or provide a ticket credit for future use. You must cancel your flight prior to departure.
  *   Make sure to cancel other reservations to avoid no show fees (lodging, conference registration, shuttle/rental car)
