Alejandra Garcia Isaza (PREV PhD Student) was recently awarded a small 
grant by UO's Center for Latino/a & Latin American Studies (CLLAS).  Her 
project entitled "Parenting through adversity: Barriers and facilitators 
of parent engagement among /Buen Comienzo/* families", will involve 
collecting qualitative and quantitative data with different Buen 
Comienzo stakeholders (administrative leaders, psychosocial 
interventionists, and parents) to identify barriers and facilitators to 
parent engagement in the Buen Comienzo family services. */Buen Comienz/o 
is a comprehensive early education program, similar to Head Start, that 
provides services for low-income children and families in Medellin, 
Colombia.
