<p>Alejandra Garcia Isaza (PREV PhD Student) was recently awarded a
small grant by UO's Center for Latino/a & Latin American
Studies (CLLAS). Her project entitled "Parenting through
adversity: Barriers and facilitators of parent engagement among <i>Buen
Comienzo</i>* families", will involve <span style="font-family:
Calibri, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; background-color:
rgb(255, 255, 255); display: inline !important">collecting
qualitative and quantitative data with different Buen Comienzo
stakeholders (administrative leaders, psychosocial
interventionists, and parents) to identify barriers and
facilitators to parent engagement in the Buen Comienzo family
services.</span> *<i>Buen Comienz</i>o is a comprehensive early
education program, similar to Head Start, that provides services
for low-income children and families in Medellin, Colombia. </p>
