The Pacific Refugee Support Group (www.pnwrsg.org<https://urldefense.com/v3/__http:/www.pnwrsg.org/__;!!C5qS4YX3!D40PRqEFCDO3VzS5iLZ41bPAe2CbPcirOJSdU5mkrNkIFAjLFmGS73LxYVNYooOJnJX-MVGH0PPvEI_7qcsbd9M$>) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting refugees, asylum seekers, and newcomers in Oregon. PRSG is expanding their services to Lane County. In collaboration with community partners, they are conducting a "Know Your Rights" workshop in Springfield next Wednesday night, March 12th from 6-8 pm (food served at 5:30). For security reasons they will announce the specific location a couple of days before the event.

 They are also seeking "bilingual Spanish-English therapists or counselors to provide support during the event, as well as interpreters who may be interested in volunteering their time at the event."  The training will be conducted in Spanish and is offered in response to community requests for such training. They would like volunteers to help translate to English. It will be an interactive session with small group activities. The training will be carried out in collaboration with the American Friends Service Committee, Community Alliance of Lane County (CALC), Oregon Community Asylum Network (OCAN), and Escudo Latino.
Additionally, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM on the same day, they will be hosting a Human Rights Observers Training. This session is designed to help the community prepare to respond safely and quickly to ICE raids, provide family accompaniment to court appointments, and support families at other events.
