Dear colleagues,

As you may know, there is a need in many communities for mental health providers who offer immigration-based services. One particular need arises for immigrants and refugees engaging in immigration legal proceedings. Often, psychological and mental health evaluations are paramount to the success of immigration applications and proceedings.

At IMPACT (Immigration Psychology Access Team), our mission has always been to increase immigrant and refugee access to high-quality psychological evaluations. Our non-profit organization provides low-income immigrants and refugees access to high-quality psychological evaluations needed for their legal case for little or no cost.

IMPACT also trains more clinicians to provide this important service to their communities.

The IMPACT Training Program might be a good fit for you if you are interested in:

· developing a skillset in this specialty of immigration mental health.
· gaining more skills to enhance the work you are already doing in this area, such as learning how to provide telehealth assessments.
· reducing isolation in the work and having more connection and consultation with co-professionals.
Check out our training program here<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/www.impactimmigration.org/copy-of-workshop-learning-objectives__;!!C5qS4YX3!T_4QVQk_7QSLNySBF5SqdALDNMCQBxAq_mSvlLvMK2lJGC5jwMzYmuN6S8b2R-l2bh8$>. We believe you will not only receive state-of-the-art training incorporating the most up-to-date ethical, sociopolitical, and legal/forensic considerations, but you will also join a group of clinicians who value culturally-responsive and trauma-informed practices. As you will see in our website<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/www.impactimmigration.org/__;!!C5qS4YX3!T_4QVQk_7QSLNySBF5SqdALDNMCQBxAq_mSvlLvMK2lJGC5jwMzYmuN6S8b2XEPOkjk$>, IMPACT connects clients and immigration attorneys to trained mental health providers, and offers a robust training program for licensed mental health professionals.

Collectively, IMPACT team members have written over 1000 evaluation reports over the years! This contributes to immigrant families staying together, unaccompanied minors finding safety, and immigrants and refugees thriving in their communities. We invite licensed professionals to join the training program and contribute to this important work.

Please feel free to email the IMPACT Training Director, Marina Valdez, PhD, with inquiries.

Warm regards,

Marina Valdez, PhD

P.S. If you are already engaged in this work, please let us know if you would like to be added to our referral directory. We occasionally receive long-distance referral requests, and would love to learn more about your work and add your name to our list. We invite you to contact our IMPACT administrative assistant, Ms. Bianca Brambila, at impactpsych.assist at gmail.com<mailto:impactpsych.assist at gmail.com> with more information about yourself.
