The application deadline for the 21-22 CDAC externship year is March 22th (Monday of finals week.). Please email me as soon as possible if you are interested. Counseling psychology students receive first priority for this externship until this deadline date.  I cannot guarantee any available extern positions after this date.

Subject: CDAC externship in HEDCO clinic

Hello all,

HEDCO’s Comprehensive Diagnostic Assessment Clinic (CDAC) is now taking applications for our 2021-2022 assessment externship.  The clinic offers comprehensive diagnosis services for individuals experiencing attention or learning difficulties.  The CDAC clinic serves all ages, with about 40% of clients under the age of 18, about 40% college students and about 20% adult community members.  Externs have the opportunity to take the lead on all aspects of the assessment process (which includes an intake, clinical interview, relevant cognitive/academic testing, report writing and a feedback session) while also having access to guided supervision for all parts of this process.

Our assessment externship is unique in its focus on a strength-based, ecological case conceptualization process and well our guided differential diagnosis process.  We also use the newest technology in our evaluation, using ipads for all WISC/WAIS and WIAT assessments.  We have weekly small group supervision, as well as individual supervision for the differential diagnosis of each client.  Full time at the clinic is about 10 hours a week, but we do have some part-time options.
