cpsylist: Reminder regarding student registration and externships versus "field study"

Dear CPSY Students,



If you plan to count some GE hours as direct clinical hours for the APPI internship application, instead of registering for one credit of externship (which requires an evaluation) please un-enroll in that one externship credit and instead enroll in CPSY 606 Field Studies (with the Training Director - currently Benedict - as Instructor of Record).



No contract is required.

No evaluation is required.

Documentation of hours signed by supervisor will be required for end of term pass.

Pass/Fail only.



Send our SSCs (Matt and Lesley) an email and cc the current Training Director (Benedict) if you are a GE providing clinical services so that the SSC can authorize you for CPSY 606 (please include your ID in the email).



If CPSY 606 Field Studies requires a title it should be "clinical service".



As a reminder, this is due to new Oregon state regulation that requires students who provide psychological services that they want

to count toward internship application must be registered for course credit. This impacts all GEs who provide psychological services.



We will follow up with information but please make this change before the end of drop/add.
