PORTLAND, Ore. – Sept. 28, 2017 – In the aftermath of Hurricane María, 28 Democratic members of the Oregon House of Representatives, led by Assistant Majority Leader Diego Hernández, today sent a letter to the entire congressional delegation of Oregon urging an immediate increase in the amount of aid and resources directed to Puerto Rico. The letter also urged an extended waiver of the Jones Act, which would allow international relief efforts to reach the island.
