Dear Faculty and Staff,
Kristi Schneider and I had the pleasure of meeting with a couple of generous supporters today, which is an increasingly frequent occurrence as we reengage fully with our donor community. Be assured that Kristi and her team are working diligently and with great effect to identify new financial resources for our college, including student scholarships, faculty support, and funding for new and expanded initiatives.
I will have the pleasure of announcing a couple of donor-funded initiatives in the coming weeks. Since this information is embargoed, I will simply take this opportunity to express my gratitude for the work of our college and university advancement teams.
Wishing everyone well,
Randy
Updates and Upcoming:
* Professional Development (PD) on Equity and Inclusion Voting Results: Of the 4 PD model options presented to the college on September 17th (Model 1: Extended Options; Model 2: Curated Options; Model 3: Self-directed model; and Model 4: Senate model), the results of the COE voting indicate an overall preference for Model 1: an Extended Menu of professional development options from which interested participants can select their PD. The COE Equity and Inclusion Committee <https://education.uoregon.edu/diversity-equity-and-inclusion> will move forward in proposing an implementation and operational model for this option that includes some of the positive aspects from each of the other models. More opportunities for faculty input will be available as this effort moves forward. In the interim, please watch for other information about COE opportunities for discourse.
