The UO Special Education and Clinical Sciences Department invites your attendance at a Colloquium provided by Dr. Kimberly Marshall, BCBA-D.

Dr. Marshall's talk will highlight challenges and solutions in online teaching, an iterative process for improving justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion (JDEI) within a university department, and will provide an overview of her areas of research focus including evidence-based practice and dissemination of behavior analysis. First, she will discuss her experiences in synchronous and asynchronous online instruction with a focus on changes made to conceptual behavior analysis and verbal behavior courses to address student difficulties and shape student success. Next, she will discuss initiatives taken as a task force to address issues of JDEI in a university behavior analysis department. Finally, she will highlight her areas of scholarship including the compassionate dissemination of behavior analysis, the effectiveness of application-based activities in university instruction, and evaluation of the use of and variables impacting the use of empirically supported treatments in the field of applied behavior analysis. Focus will be given to future research directions that could present as opportunities for master's students in behavior analysis. There will be a question and answer session following the talk and an opportunity to provide your feedback.

This Colloquium is part of an on campus interview for a C-NTTF Lecturer or Senior Lecturer for the proposed Online Master's Degree Program in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) within the Special Education Program, which is funded through the UO Provost Office for Online Initiatives and the College of Education.

ABOUT DR. MARSHALL, BCBA-D

Kimberly Marshall is a doctoral-level board-certified behavior analyst. She is the Senior Program Coordinator at the Center for Children with Special Needs, where she provides consultative and program development support to educational programs for students on the autism spectrum and with complex social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Additionally, she works on internal projects and development at the Center for Children with Special Needs, with a focus on providing the staff with diverse experiences and ongoing training. Dr. Marshall is an adjunct professor and thesis mentor at Endicott College. Dr. Marshall received her bachelor's degree in education from Bucknell University, her master's degree in autism and intellectual disabilities from Teachers College, Columbia University, her board certification in behavior analysis through The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, and her Ph. D. in Applied Behavior Analysis from Endicott College. Dr. Marshall has presented nationally and internationally on topics including functional analysis, reading comprehension, staff training, and university instruction in behavior analysis.
