Abstract: How do we adapt evidence-based parenting prevention programs to new populations and problems? In this presentation, Dr. Jennifer Doty applies the Multiphase Optimization Strategy (MOST), a framework to determine the most effective and efficient version of a program and optimize it for scalability. She shares her formative research with Latinx families to understand their needs in online contexts and discusses strategies to more effectively meet the needs of Latinx families in a post-COVID environment. Additionally, she applied the MOST framework to the online environment, asking the question, “How do we better support media parenting?” Finally, she emphasizes the need to have valid and reliable measurement to understand the needs of diverse populations. Together, her research examples demonstrate strategies to adapt parent-based prevention programs for diverse audiences and contexts.
