Dear Faculty and Staff,
This edition of The Weekly includes an important action item for faculty – completion of the teaching modality survey included in the next section. Please also see the accolades for Julie Alonzo and Deanna Linville. The number and significance of the accolades we publish is beyond impressive. Enumeration of this list each week reminds me of how fortunate I am to be a member of this faculty.
Wishing everyone well,
Randy
Updates and Upcoming:
* Teaching Modality Survey – Spring Term 2021: Please consider the following as you complete the survey:
* This survey will be used to determine the modality in which your courses will be offered. Survey questions are only related to teaching preferences without any need to provide personal information regarding individual needs.
* All requests to teach remotely will be honored. Other modality preferences will be decided in accordance with department needs and classroom availability.
* If the survey is not completed by the deadline, the department will schedule you according to department needs.
* We ask that you take into consideration the safety measures that the university has put into place before making your decision. All in-person courses will be scheduled in rooms with appropriate distancing and ventilation. Some classrooms have been technologically upgraded for HyFlex course delivery and in-person courses will be scheduled in those rooms where possible.
* As a reminder, nothing about teaching remotely in the spring changes the duties and expectations for your position. Any requests to perform non-teaching responsibilities on-campus should be made to your department head.
* Please complete the survey by end of day, Thursday, January 21: https://oregon.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_0wABUjnHricfQod
Accolades:
* Congratulations to Julie Alonzo who was recently featured in an article: Experts Weigh In On Current Job Market Trends<https://www.zippia.com/behavioral-specialist-jobs/trends/>. Julie answers questions related to the biggest trends in the job market given the pandemic, skills students should enhance if taking a gap year, and general advice to graduates beginning their careers.
* Deanna Linville was interviewed for a two-part series for a podcast called Navigating Recovery. Deanna provides expert advice and commentary about eating disorders and the importance of integrating family and other “chosen kin” in the process of healing from an eating disorder.
