Dear COE community,
Please join me in congratulating our colleagues on the following new research award.
Jeff Todahl and Phyllis Barkhurst, at the Center for the Prevention of Abuse and Neglect, recently received a bridge grant from The Ford Family Foundation. This grant provides direct support for the statewide launch of the Oregon Child Abuse Prevalence Study (OCAPS). OCAPS, the first prevalence study of its kind in the U.S., will create a baseline of much more accurate prevalence data and establishes an ability to measure trends, and to inform legislative policy and program decision-making. The TFFF grant is one part of a public-private partnership to prevent child abuse in Oregon. OCAPS, employing a stratified statewide random sample, will launch this spring.
Congratulations, Jeff and Phyllis!
Best wishes,
Emily
