re: Kevin Pearce event Friday, March 2
Dear COE community members,
The CDS program and UO chapter of the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association are very pleased to welcome Kevin Pearce to campus on the evening of Friday, March 2nd. Kevin was an internationally known competitive snow boarder who experienced a severe traumatic brain injury in a fall during an Olympic training run in 2009. Following his extraordinary recovery, he went on to found the Love Your Brain Foundation, which promotes awareness of brain injury and supports for survivors.
The Friday evening program will feature a screening of The Crash Reel, the award winning documentary which follows Kevin and his family from the day of the accident, through the early days after his injury and the next few years of his recovery. The screening will be followed with a presentation by Kevin, and the opportunity to ask questions after his talk.
The event is free and open to the public. Please share the details (flyer attached) with others who may be interested, and I look forward to seeing you there!
Best,
Karen McLaughlin
