coe-staff: COE Assistant Dean and Facilities Manager Appointments

Members of the College of Education Community:

I am pleased to announce two additions to the COE's administrative team.

Mr. Eric (Big Dog) Owens has now been hired officially as the COE Complex Facilities and Project Manager on a permanent basis. Eric worked for Lease Crutcher Lewis during the building and complex project and has served as the interim Complex Facilities and Project Manager since the fall of 2012. Eric's office is in 307A HEDCO (Phone: 541-731-2843; e-mail: eowens at uoregon.edu).

Ms. Diane O'Keefe has been selected to become the COE's interim Assistant Dean for Finance and Operations effective July 1. Diane has worked in the college, principally in the Center for Teaching and Learning and in our research and outreach structure, since the late 1990s. As you all know, Elaine Jones served in this role for almost 20 years before retiring and will leave her position on June 30. Diane will move into Elaine's former office early this summer, and we will let you know her phone and e-mail as soon as she is settled.

There is no question that both Eric and Diane are exceptionally well suited to their respective roles and will continue our college's tradition of excellence. Please join me in welcoming them to the fold.
