COLLEGE OF EDUCATION
DISPLAYS, TABLING, BARRELS, BANNERS, ETC. IN PUBLIC SPACES



Policy:   In the public spaces of the buildings in the COE complex displays, tabling, barrels, etc. are allowed in the public spaces for up to one week per term or at the beginning and end of each term in coordination with the Facilities Manager.

Purpose:  To maintain building appearances and aesthetics.

Procedure:

For interior displays, tabling, barrels, etc. contact the COE Facilities Manager for approval and coordination of the placement and duration of the display.

Exterior banners are not allowed in public space interiors or exteriors of buildings unless posted on approved light poles following exterior banner policy guidelines. Working with the COE Facilities Manager, the unit must provide the following information:

  1.  Focal point on event
  2.  Dimensions of banner(s)
  3.  Temporary placement with start/end dates (not to exceed 30 days)
  4.  Approval from UO Design and Editing
  5.  Support from impacted neighbors
  6.  Approval from Deans Office, College of Education
  7.  Approval from Campus Operations for light poles and locations
  8.  Notification to Campus Planning and Real Estate
  9.  Banner Locations
  10. Banner image
EXAMPLE (Oregon Bach Festival):
1)   The OBF's focal point is to announce their concert series end celebration.
2)   The banner is a 2'W X 3'L standard size that is most commonly used across campus.
3)   The banners are set up on a temporary basis only. The start and end dates are: June 23rd 2011 through July 10th 2011.
4)   UO Design and Editing has approved their design.
5)   Dave Mason at the School of Music and Judi Byrum from the Knight Library have given their support.
6)   The Deans Office has approved their placement.
7)   Campus Operations has approved the poles and their locations.
8)   Campus Planning has been notified.
9)   Banner locations are provided.
10) Banner image is provided.
