coe-fac: COE Faculty Performance Reviews Process Begin Next Week

Good morning COE Faculty,
Next week, the College of Education will begin this year’s faculty performance review cycle. As a reminder, the performance evaluation process occurs annually, beginning in Winter and concluding in Spring. Department Heads and Unit Directors will receive the full evaluation timeline, and faculty scheduled for review this year will receive a direct email in mid‑February outlining required materials and individual deadlines.
This year, the College will conduct performance reviews in Elements<https://provost.uoregon.edu/elements>, the university’s new software platform for managing faculty activity and review workflows. Elements captures faculty’s accomplishments in teaching, scholarship, and service and supports review and promotion processes consistent with the Faculty CBA and unit‑level policies.  Although the review will now take place in Elements, the materials and expectations remain the same: faculty will continue to submit a highlighted CV and a summary of activities.
The College of Education follows the evaluation frequency requirements established in the UA Collective Bargaining Agreement, the Provost’s Office guidelines, and the COE Performance Evaluation and Merit Review Guidelines:

  *   Career instructional faculty receive annual reviews for their first three years and at least once every three years thereafter. The three‑year cycle resets following a successful promotion or continuous employment review.
  *   Career and pro tem research faculty receive annual performance reviews.
  *   Tenure‑track faculty who have not yet received tenure and are not currently undergoing mid‑tenure or tenure review receive an annual review.
If you are scheduled for a review this cycle, please watch for an email later in February with your personalized performance evaluation instructions.
