We hope you have space in your calendar to join us for a great film and conversation later this month about some of the issues families in our country are facing as they struggle to combine work and family caregiving in a way that works for kids and families.
Here’s the scoop:

Family Forward Oregon is hosting a screening of the documentary film Raising of America at the Eugene Public Library on Tuesday, August 25th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., followed by an interactive panel discussion with some terrific local thought leaders:

Colt Gill, Superintendent of Bethel Schools, is our moderator. Panelists are:

  *   Sharon Bernstein, Co-founder and Deputy Director, Family Forward Oregon
  *   Judy Newman, Co-director, Early Childhood CARES
  *   Sabrina Berry Parsons, CEO, Palo Alto Software Company
  *   Carmen Urbina, Equity & Diversity Inclusion Manager, 4j

We hope you will join us to learn about the care crisis in the U.S. and how we can change the conversation to create a better way that works for kids, families, our economy and our communities.

  *   Who: You! Your friends! (Your friends with kids. Your friends without kids. FREE & open to all.)
  *   Why: Because to predict how our nation will fare tomorrow, we need to look at how our youngest are faring today — and the numbers are not all that promising. Raising of America hopes to change the conversation so that more parents and children have access to the kind of care they need — but we can't do it without first knowing about the problem (and hatching a plan to solve it!).
  *   RSVP: No need, this one is first come, first served — until space runs out!
