Speech Language Pathologist
JOB SUMMARY:
The Speech-Language Pathologist will provide a full range of services to children ages 3-21. Responsibilities will include screening and assessment, designing treatment programs, providing direct therapy; and consulting with school staff, parents and outside agencies as appropriate; and function as a member of the multidisciplinary team to determine the child's eligibility for services, appropriate programming and on-going progress.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Education and Experience:
* Current Washington State ESA certification or ability to attain.
* Experience working with children ages 3-21 years of age.
* Master's degree in Speech Pathology.
* Prior experience working with diverse cultures.
* Ability to function independently and as a team member.
* Ability to effectively plan and organize service delivery.
* Demonstrate a high level of competence in written and oral communications.
* Experience in basic computer skills (word processing, e-mail, data entry).
Preferred:
* ASHA CCC's strongly preferred.
* Current Washington State DOH license or ability to attain.
* Experience screening, assessing, designing treatment programs.
* Experience providing direct therapy and consulting with school staff, parents and outside agencies as appropriate.
* Experience functioning as a member of a multidisciplinary team to determine the child's eligibility for services, appropriate programming and on-going progress.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide direct therapy services to eligible children including articulation, voice, fluency, possible feeding therapy and language therapy which emphasizes improved educational performance.
* Evaluate children who have been referred and determined to require a Communication assessment, including selecting appropriate instruments, administering tests, observations, and writing reports which state the evaluation findings, and provide for program recommendations.
* Participate as a member of the multidisciplinary team and the individualized education committee contributing evaluation findings and collaborating on the child's program plan.
* Consult with parents, teachers, and other staff involved with the student regarding the child's program and any adaptations needed to facilitate improved performance in the classroom or at home.
* Maintain appropriate data on students to document current levels of performance and other pertinent information. Re-evaluate, as appropriate, and determine extent of progress and effectiveness of therapy.
* Establish the necessary caseloads, procedures and resources to manage the Communication program for children, and work cooperatively to accomplish the goals of the district.
* Adhere to the ethical standards and codes of the profession and to the established rules, regulations and laws governing communication disorders programs.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION:
Yearly salary according to CBA.
$1,500 one-year hiring bonus with signed contract
Stipend for compliant IEPs completed as primary case manager according to CBA
