Hi folks,

I also want to share this proposed notice of a motion - drafted by the Senate Rules Committee but to be sponsored by the Senate Exec - to make a change in the by-laws. You can see the idea in the draft notice, basically making the VP/pres-elect and the past-president co-chairs of the Committee on Committees instead of only the VP/pres-elect chairing. The rationale is that the past-president as co-chair adds continuity and institutional memory to the committee appointment process.

To be clear, what I’m asking the Senate Exec to do is sponsor this notice, which informs the senate that a motion will be forthcoming. The Senate would be presented with an actual motion to discuss and vote on some time in March.
