I also want to share this proposed notice of a motion - drafted by the Senate Rules Committee but to be sponsored by the Senate Exec - to make a change in the by-laws. You can see the idea in the draft notice, basically making the VP/pres-elect and the past-president co-chairs of the Committee on Committees instead of only the VP/pres-elect chairing. The rationale is that the past-president as co-chair adds continuity and institutional memory to the committee appointment process.<br>

To be clear, what I’m asking the Senate Exec to do is sponsor this notice, which informs the senate that a motion will be forthcoming. The Senate would be presented with an actual motion to discuss and vote on some time in March.<br>
