Hi Senators and Senate Executive Committee members,

I want to draw your attention to the new position announcement <https://careers.uoregon.edu/cw/en-us/job/525467/vice-provost-for-academic-affairs> for the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs. This position combined the responsibilities of the position that Ellen Herman held (her term is now up) plus responsibilities for overseeing career faculty as well. The position description reads:

The Vice Provost for Academic Affairs' (VPAA) primary focus is on the academic success of UO faculty. This includes, but is not limited to personnel actions such as tenure, promotion, faculty performance reviews, post-tenure review, development plans, and sabbaticals as well as training and development of faculty across their careers. Work in these areas is supported by other OTP staff.

This position will report to the Executive Vice Provost for Academic Affairs

This is the first academic administrator search to take place since we passed the Search Procedures for Academic Administrator Positions <https://policies.uoregon.edu/search-procedures-academic-administrator-positions>. This position falls under Section VI of the policy, and this search is compliant with the policy to this point. There is good faculty representation on the committee, including the current and former FPC chairs, two faculty members of the Academic Council, and a representative from UAUO.

The position is open until July 7. Please let your faculty constituents know and encourage people who you think would be strong candidates to apply.
