Dear UO Senate Members,

We hope that your Spring term is going as well as possible and that you and your family and loved ones are keeping safe and healthy in these challenging times.  Active planning is underway for summer term courses and we're reaching out to invite your input into this process.  Please note that our colleagues in the Provost's office, led by Janet Woodruff-Borden and Ron Bramhall, are working long hours and in collaboration with our Academic Council, to provide faculty and students support and guidance for teaching and instruction this term and the coming summer term.  As they share regularly with us, OTP colleagues are impressed by and grateful for your collective efforts to shift to remote instruction this term and for your creative efforts to support and engage our students in learning this term.

Attached you will find a draft version of Academic Council continuity planning & guidance for the duration of the COVID-19 Pandemic.  Academic Council met Wednesday to discuss these new guidelines for academic continuity through summer term.  We are inviting you--members of the senate-to review these guidelines, seek input from your colleagues, and provide any feedback, prior to the Academic Council's vote on the guidelines Tuesday morning. Yes, turnaround time is fast - many working parts and summer term registration begins in less than two weeks.

Dear Academic Council,

Here is the draft from our discussion this past Wednesday. Please get back to Ron and I with comments and any suggestions for changes by Monday, (4/27) 8 a.m.

And as requested by Elizabeth in the meeting, please could you (Elizabeth) distribute to the Senate and ask all feedback to come back to Maggie Bosworth (magboz at uoregon.edu<mailto:magboz at uoregon.edu>) by this same deadline (Monday (4/27) 8 a.m.).

Ron and I will then review the input and make a final draft on Monday and send it out for vote to Academic Council by 5 pm, asking you to respond by Tuesday noon with your vote.
