Dear Faculty,

I'm a member of the search committee to select the new Vice Provost and University Librarian (the position formerly known as Dean of the Libraries).

A search firm (WittKieffer) has been hired to coordinate this search, and their representatives hope to have a profile description that will be used to advertise the position by the end of this month. The targeted deadline for applications that will receive full consideration is mid-February. Campus visits of the finalists will happen in Spring 2020.

Many of the members of the search committee are librarians. As I am not a librarian, I would like to contribute to the committee by bringing the perspective of what faculty are hoping to see in the new head of our libraries. If you have input, I hope you'll share it with me (sdhodges at uoregon.edu<mailto:sdhodges at uoregon.edu>; 541-346-4919). I'd be happy to learn more by talking with you.
