This is our 16th year of our Puertas Abiertas Leadership Academy at Lane Community College. Our Graduation Ceremony of the Class of 2018 Puertas Abiertas/Pasos al Futuro Summer Leadership Academy students will take place at Lane Community College, on Friday, July 20, at 6pm. We will celebrate the wonderful accomplishments of 23 Lane County high school students and 3 college student Interns! The Ceremony begins at 6pm and will take place on the Second Floor of the Center Building, Main Lobby 200, on the Lane Community College campus located at 4000 E.30th Ave. Eugene, OR.

The Puertas Abiertas Leadership Academy (PALA) began in 2002, is one of four Rites of Passage programs at Lane Community College and has received a national nomination from Excelencia in Education in 2011 and recognition by The College Board in 2016. In 2018, PALA received a three-year $50,000 grant from the Oregon Community Foundation to support the Ganas Middle School Mentorship program. Since 2015, PALA has also received $45,000 in donations to support Puertas Abiertas students attending Lane. Puertas Abiertas is coordinated by the Chicano / Latino Student Program Coordinator in the Department of Student Engagement.
