Happy Monday!

I want to encourage you to attend our meeting this Wednesday @ 11 in 119 Lokey Education Building PLEASE arrive on time for this meeting as we have three back to back guests and won't have the flexibility we normally do to start later.

We will be having a very important conversation in regards to The University of Oregon Opportunities Program.

To give you context: The program provides critical outreach, information, and support for students, families, and communities of color within their local schools and neighborhoods. As entire families-students and parents-participate in Opportunities events, they learn together about the comprehensive admissions, financial aid, and enrollment processes. The mission is Guided by the belief that every student should have the opportunity to prepare for higher education, the University of Oregon Opportunities Program empowers under-represented students and parents to become active participants in the K-12 and higher education process to pursue their educational dreams.

The University of Oregon, led by the Office of Enrollment Management, is committed to increasing college attendance among the Hispanic and Latino community members of our state. The region's fastest growing demographic, Hispanics and Latinos make up approximately 12% of Oregon's current population (according to the 2010 U.S. Census). While the number of Hispanics and Latinos who attend college is rising, they still significantly lag behind the general population. How can we help continue this growth and development for our LatinX students at the University of Oregon?
