What you will be doing!
As the Principal Auditor, you will report directly to our Executive Director. You will provide independent, professional internal audit services and management consultation to agency leadership by planning, leading and managing audits that analyze operational functions of the agency that will include; operational and policy functions, agency business systems in order to improve agency performance, transparency and accountability.

The audits provide information to management to improve the efficiency, and effectiveness of agency programs, operations, and activities and to reduce risk.

In addition to performing audits, you will be working with the leadership team to support the full implementation of business process improvements and strengthening internal controls as needed. This position is ideal for someone who likes to see the connection between their audit recommendations and the actions taken by the organization to optimize resources and outcomes.

To be considered for this position you must meet the following minimum qualifications (required skills):

  *   A Bachelor's degree in a business related field such as business or public administration, finance, economics, computer science; or a degree related to human or social services. AND
  *   Three years of auditing experience.
A graduate-level degree in a business related field such as business or public administration, finance, economics, computer science; or a degree related to human or social services may substitute for one year of the required experience.

Note: Certification in any of the following is preferred but not required: Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Public Accountant, Certified Government Auditing Professional, or Certified Information Systems Auditor.

Requested Skills
The most competitive candidates will have the following:

  *   Experience planning and completing audits or reviews in accordance with auditing standards and procedures.
  *   Skills in creating short and long range audit plans for an organization.
  *   Experience helping to coordinate external or third-party audits/reviews.
  *   Experience communicating audit/review results both orally and in writing.
  *   Experience assessing and documenting risks and internal controls.
  *   Experience coordinating projects involving multiple participants.
  *   Skills in applying the use of performance metrics as business tool.
