CALL FOR PROPOSALS IS NOW OPEN

 Aloha from Hawai’i,

Welcome to PACRIM 2017 and the Call for Proposals! Yes, it is true – we have moved our conference to the autumn – a season of astonishing beauty and a perfect time to visit the islands. We have also moved from the conference center to two splashy hotel resorts on the beach! We hope you like the change.

We know you have vast expertise in diversity and disability and breakthrough ideas about how to advance the full inclusion of all human beings in society. In 2017, Pac Rim is committed to exploring how we can build and sustain a world where all are welcome to participate, to enjoy the bounties of life and to have an adequate standard of living, free from the tyranny of poverty and exclusion.

In 2017, our areas of inquiry span a holistic and solid foundation for exploring the Conference theme: SustainAbility. We wish to examine the economic, social, cultural, political and environmental aspects of marginalization, and to hasten their demise through action plans favoring diversity in all aspects of life. The obstacles are perhaps more daunting today than in any time in recent memory, yet together we possess the power to turn things around. Pac Rim invites you to help create a more hopeful future by sharing your inspired research and advocacy initiatives with likeminded folks. With five broad themes and  more than 18 topic areas, – from justice to education to current issues -  we will foment vital discussions and create exciting spaces for learning and action. In a couple of weeks, we will begin posting our lineup on the website.
