travelnews: A Couple of Travel Updates for 2026

Hello and Happy New Year UO Travelers and Travel Delegates,

It is an exciting time as we enter the new year, commence with winter term, and see our Ducks move on to the semi-finals of the college football playoffs! We want to share a couple of updates as we move into the new year.

First, there will not be a January Travel/Concur Roundtable. Happily, we will resume the Travel/Concur Roundtable series beginning Wednesday, February 4th and UO Sponsored Project Services will be talking about grant funded travel.  Stay tuned for a description and post of the teams meeting link. If you have specific questions about grant funded travel, please sent them to me at bmillett at uoregon.edu<mailto:bmillett at uoregon.edu> so I may pass them on to SPS in preparation for their discussion in February.

As of January 1st, 2026 the IRS Standard Mileage Rate has gone up by 2.5 cents to 72.5 cents a mile. This new rate has already been loaded into Concur. Please keep in mind alternatives to employees driving their personal vehicles for UO business travel, such as UO Motor Pool or renting a car with either Enterprise/National or Hertz.
