The Family, Youth, and Community Sciences department at the University of Florida is hiring for a Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Youth Development and Prevention Science. Example emphases are: implementation and dissemination/sustainability of programs or practices that focus on youth; prevention science methodology; cultural adaptations. The department is especially interested in a candidate with expertise in research with marginalized and minoritized populations using methodologies that are culturally responsive, community-informed, and equity focused.
The position starts in August 2023, is 9 months with a negotiable starting pay range between $90-95,000. Start up is approximately 150,000. You can also do summer salary savings/add grant funds as you get them for your summer salary. Application review begins 11/15.
The department is interdisciplinary, ranging from clinical/community/developmental psychology to public health to non-profit management and community development. Applied research is highly valued. Though Gainesville is a small city, it is rich with a variety of community groups, and there are many community-university partnerships. There is wonderful weather from October to April and Gainesville is an hour from both the gulf and east coast beaches.
