Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at Boston University
The Child and Family Health Lab at Boston University has an opening for a research-focused postdoctoral fellow. The fellow will contribute to a program of research focused on culture and health equity in the context of autism, with a focus on diversity across race, ethnicity, culture, and primary spoken language. In particular, the fellow will be involved with research related to community-based, family-focused treatment development during the transition to adulthood for youth on the autism spectrum. There may also be opportunities for the fellow to become involved with additional projects focused on health equity and/or family-centered care in the context of pediatric medical illness or autism across the life course, depending on the fellow's interests. For more information about current projects, please visit http://sites.bu.edu/childandfamilyhealth/research/<https://urldefense.com/v3/__http:/sites.bu.edu/childandfamilyhealth/research/__;!!C5qS4YX3!Tu5-RjMKdy5H1xgXz4Z1Bh28Jm6Bz49qsRW9Q47uqOwinTsY8WvAXkFqRNMm6cQ$>.
This research fellowship would be a good match for candidates with a background in psychology, occupational therapy, special education, social work, public health, or related fields. Spanish fluency is preferred but not required. The 2-year fellowship will include opportunities for mentored grant-writing, involvement in community-based research, qualitative and/or quantitative data analysis, manuscript preparation, and general professional development. There will be optional opportunities for supervised clinical experiences for candidates seeking licensure as a psychologist. This position aims to prepare the fellow for independent clinical research careers and academic appointments through university or healthcare settings.
The appointment will be through the Clinical Psychology program within Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at Boston University. Salary is commensurate with NIH guidelines, and benefits are competitive. The start date is flexible, with a preferred start date no later than summer 2022. Applicants should have completed their doctoral degree by the start of the fellowship. Boston University and the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences strongly value diversity, and we are especially enthusiastic about candidates who support our institutional values regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion.
