The IMPACT (IMproving Prevention through ACTion) Research Lab<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/hd.wsu.edu/research-labs/impact-lab/__;!!C5qS4YX3!UbNbZueyb2vhGX7CyZ5R65H31DTGepsBRSbx2qsMUo_5-jjPbx9eG6u_yPxR-yQ$> in the College of Agriculture, Human and Natural Resources (CAHNRS) has an immediate opening for a Social Science Data Analyst. This position will include a broad range of responsibilities in data management, analysis, and reporting. The successful candidate will oversee project data operations (advising on new projects; monitoring, cleaning, analyzing and archiving several large and diverse data sets; interpreting findings; preparing publications and presentations; etc.) on multiple short- and long-term projects. The successful candidate will be joining a vibrant and collaborative group of prevention researchers, research coordinators, and graduate and undergraduate students. This position is located in Pullman, Washington but we are open to remote work. Remote work opportunities will be discussed at the interview stage.
Required Qualifications:
* A Bachelor’s degree, including college-level course work in statistics and/or mathematics or one (1) year of work experience in statistics, analysis, or research OR equivalent education/experience.
* Master’s degree in Prevention Science, Psychology, Public Health, Implementation Science, Social Work, Data Science, Human Development, or closely related fields and 2 years of relevant experience.
* Competency in research methods, data management, and analysis.
* Knowledge of longitudinal, linear and logistic regression, propensity score analysis, and multilevel/mixed effects/nested modeling.
* Familiarity with mixed-method research.
* Proficiency in the use of quantitative analysis software (SAS and SPSS).
* Ability to meet frequent and multiple deadlines.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with staff in different geographic locations and with a range of education and experience levels.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to accurately complete detailed work.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience working with state agencies and communities to bridge that gap between the practitioners and researchers.
* Experience reporting data graphically and numerically for non-academic audiences.
* Experience in substance use prevention research/evaluation.
* Experience working with large national- and state-level datasets, including administrative data.
* Experience using qualitative software for data analysis.
