If you are planning to be in the Eugene-Springfield area this summer and are looking for part-time work in a health services field, please see below and consider applying. Note the June 5 deadline, below. It is expected that there will be a high need for contract tracing this summer, with the potential for paid positions. Dr. Liz Budd or I are happy to answer any questions you may have.

We are reaching out to you given your educational interests in the health sciences.

The world is involved in a massive effort to defeat COVID-19. As societies everywhere prepare to reopen their communities safely, wide-spread testing and tracing efforts are underway so that infections can be caught early before they spread. Contact tracing is a central part of this public health strategy and key to protecting lives and livelihoods everywhere.

Working in partnership with Lane County Public Health, the University of Oregon is recruiting students to join a team of student contact tracers.

Students will be trained and certified in contact tracing by completing an online course. Once certified, students will be part of monitoring teams for the County. On-the-job supervision as well as additional mentoring and oversight by UO faculty will be provided to all contact tracers.

We are working quickly.
