Subject: NEW Research and Evaluation Position at Portland Public Schools
Dear Colleagues,

Happy New Year! I am hopeful that you found some time to celebrate the holiday season with your family and friends. At PPS we are beginning the new year with exciting opportunities for growth. In 2021 we are making plans to (a) establish new infrastructure for our research and evaluation work, (b) co-construct our learning agenda with our families, educators, and community partners, and (c) lead with racial equity, social justice, and evidence-based decision making in support of our district strategic plans.

To support this work, we are inviting applicants for a new evaluator position<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/careers.pps.net/psc/career/SELFSRV/HRMS/c/HRS_HRAM_FL.HRS_CG_SEARCH_FL.GBL?Page=HRS_APP_SCHJOB_FL&Action=U__;!!C5qS4YX3!TFQOar5OKP_8zCCsCBz92qGfoTpa_1lBJAvVCg2PIdWLBzSIpmcJspw6nh-WVll6$> on our research and evaluation team. The System Planning and Performance Evaluator III position will work directly with me and my team to help lead, develop, and expand the PPS Research and Evaluation vision. This is an advanced-level classification and we are seeking applicants to:

  * design, manage, and complete complex evaluations and statistical analyses

  * communicate about data to public facing audiences

  * sustain and strengthen multi-stakeholder partnerships, and

  * facilitate politically sensitive matters with tight deadlines.

This is a powerful time for education researchers to refine their agendas in service of practitioners, students, and families across the country. Our aim is to foster a collaborative, robust research and policy environment that will allow us all to lead with timely, evidence-based decision making. Please share this exciting opportunity widely with your networks and feel free to reach out to me personally if you’d like to connect about this position.

All my best,
--
