Research Compliance Services Student Employee Position Description
Hours: 10-20 hrs per week, up to max of 25 hours per week
Hourly Wage: $13.00
Wage Category: Student Assistant II - $12.86-$13.76

This position will provide administrative support to Research Compliance Services, a service unit supported by the Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation. Research Compliance Services (RCS) works with the University of Oregon research community to ensure the responsible and ethical conduct of research by offering guidance, education, and technical assistance.
The individual in this position receives, triages, compiles, and files submitted human subjects research protocol applications and correspondence; provides customer service support to researchers via phone and email; and assists with other office tasks and projects as assigned, including records maintenance, data entry, and proofreading. This position will also support development of training and outreach materials for virtual environments.
Applicant must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Adobe, and PowerPoint. Previous work experience in an office or research setting preferred but not required.
We are looking for an individual who has solid customer service skills; learns new databases and procedures quickly; is highly organized, efficient, and accurate in their work; can follow direction; and can work independently. Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive information is critical. We are also looking for an individual who is familiar with or able to become familiar with video editing and other multi-media applications and technologies.
Regular shift schedule is required; shifts at least 2 hours long preferred. Hours, with approved schedule in advance, are flexible between 8am and 5pm, M-F. Currently, RCS operations are being carried out remotely. To be successful in this position, you must have the ability to connect and work remotely.
