Dear all,

CLLAS has fun, community-building events planned for next week. Please
mark your calendars and spread the word!

*Grad Student Mixer | Wednesday, Nov 20, 2-4pm | Lease Crutcher Lewis,
EMU 23*

A social & networking opportunity for UO graduate students focusing
on Latinx and/or Latin American Studies. There will be coffee, tea,
ice cream sundaes & savory snacks.

*Pub Chat | Thursday, ****Nov 21, 6:30pm | Falling Sky Deli, 790 Blair
Blvd.*

A CLLAS Pub Chat featuring the book “Latinx Environmentalisms:
Place, Justice, and the Decolonial.” The whiteness of mainstream
environmentalism often fails to account for the richness and variety
of Latinx environmental thought. Building on insights of
environmental justice scholarship as well as critical race and
ethnic studies, the editors and contributors to Latinx
Environmentalisms map the ways Latinx cultural texts integrate
environmental concerns with questions of social and political
justice. Editors Sarah Wald, David Vázquez, Priscilla Solis Ybarra
and Sarah Jaquette Ray will discuss their work with the community.
    Cash bar and food.

*Faculty & Staff Mixer | Friday, Nov 22, 12-2pm | Lease Crutcher Lewis,
EMU 23*

An opportunity to mingle and build community as we welcome new
faculty and staff working  on Latinx and Latin American Studies and
with Latinx & Latin American students. Food and beverages will be
    provided.

I support all students regardless of immigration status or country of
origin. Remember, when interacting with faculty, staff, and offices
around campus you are never required to reveal your status.
