Hi All-
This ia a great class for all of you but in particular for more advanced doc students.  So, for our second year PREV Doc students  - if you are ready to turn in a previous research presentation or previous research work into a publication, this is a great class for you to take.

Talk to your advisor about this class.  Dr. Umansky is a great instructor.

Dear Benedict,

I hope you are doing well and that you had a nice summer. This fall I’m teaching Scholarly Writing, a class targeted toward advanced doctoral students who are aiming to write a journal article and submit it for publication. If possible, could you communicate to your advanced PhD students about this class?

The class guides students through the writing and publication process for a journal article. At the end of the class they should have a manuscript that is ready - or close to ready - for submission. Enrolled students should have whatever data (quantitative or qualitative) already collected for the study and much or all of the analyses completed. It’s ok to have some writing already done prior to the class or to come in not yet having written anything. I’m attaching the (almost final) syllabus here.

Thank you very much for passing word along about this class. I hope to work with a diverse set of advanced doctoral students from COE’s PhD programs.
