Subject: Late Night Walkabout in Near Campus Neighborhoods

You are invited to join UO Community Relations and Student Life staff on a late-night walk around UO near campus neighborhoods on Friday, October 28 starting at 10 p.m. until approximately 12 a.m. We'll visit all three closest campus neighborhoods as well as observe activity on campus. This is as an opportunity to experience first-hand near campus activities in which young people engage. This helps us better understand issues of personal safety and decision-making as well as impacts on neighborhood livability. Neighborhood leaders, UO staff and student leaders, and city and community stakeholders are all welcome to attend.
Everyone will meet at the EMU Fishbowl to check out the late-night activities on campus and then walk to the Fairmont, South University and West University neighborhoods. There will be about 10-15 people, including our CommUniversity students that will be passing out educational materials as we walk. Matt Roberts and I will be working with UOPD and EPD so we can connect with them throughout the night. We also have a few individuals that will be participating in a ride-along with law enforcement so it should be a fun night.
