Greetings current and former CPSY community,

Please see below and share these resources regarding the rights of immigrants, in languages of Mexico and Central America. I am also sending an updated set of resources and materials, with some national but more local resources.

Best,

Ellen

I support all students regardless of immigration status or country of origin. As a member of the UO Dreamers Working Group, I support Dreamer students and promote their sense of belonging and safety as they pursue their higher education goals. For more information and resources please visit our Dreamers page (https://www.uoregon.edu/uo-dreamers) and the Immigration FAQs page (http://international.uoregon.edu/immigration_faq ). Remember, when interacting with faculty, staff, and offices around campus you are never required to reveal your status.

Subject: [Latinxstrategygroup] Know Your Rights materials in Indigenous Mesoamerican (Mexico and Guatemala) languages

Dear Colleagues,

My name is Gabriela Pérez Báez and I am the director of the Language Revitalization Lab at the UO.

Our lab has been collaborating with various organizations to develop materials on the constitutional rights of immigrants in the U.S. I am writing to share these materials with you hoping they will be useful to your work, and that you can help us disseminate them.

You can find these resources at https://blogs.uoregon.edu/revitalizationlab/know-your-rights-conoce-tus-derechos/. You can also use this shorter link: https://tinyurl.com/hfhkes6r<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/tinyurl.com/hfhkes6r__;!!C5qS4YX3!BFAuhZ4kOSK1_IuHrR6Z2r3ZaYR2UE8DWxih0N8OCKpZdh5-Q1hdqwUwADGAReoUdRq2TJwwO4EbcZcFUliiEYE$>.

The original script was vetted by one civil rights organization and by an immigration lawyer from Portland. The language versions have been produced professionally by experienced interpreters. The page includes links to materials from other organizations and we label all materials accordingly.

We hope these materials will be useful. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions.

Best regards,
Gabriela
