Hello everyone!
In our tumultuous and insecure times I hope that you all get a chance to engage in a little bit of reflection and renewal today. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. embodied how to create social change and he sacrificed greatly for it. He built on the sacrifices of many, many people who went before him. My plan for today is to think about Dr. King and the many brave people who have fought for social justice and meaningful change in ways that have significantly changed our lives. I want to reflect and give thanks for the benefits we all receive from the tough and sacrificial work of great people who came before me. On days like today I also like to think about my own daughters, my parents and uncles, and my whole family and consider whether I have done enough to move the next generation forward a little bit more, with greater insight and awareness and "ganas" to keep the spirit and action of change alive.
I hope you all have a great day and are able to find renewal in your own way as we celebrate the life and gifts of Dr. Martin Luther King.
Peace to all of you!
Benedict
