Dear Student Colleagues,
Remember how awesome it was to receive feedback on a scholarship essay BEFORE you submitted it?
I know that some of you did not have that opportunity as high school students, because you did not have a network of support or familial capital of that kind. Dr. Jose Melendez at UO is collaborating with some community organizations and UO community members to offer a scholarship clinic on Saturday Feb 20th. He is seeking volunteers for 45 minute blocks of time to meet (zoom) with high school students to provide them with support, mentoring, and feedback on their essays. If you are willing to do this or at least want to know more, please read the attached information.
Best,
Ellen

I support all students regardless of immigration status or country of origin. As a member of the UO Dreamers Working Group, I support Dreamer students and promote their sense of belonging and safety as they pursue their higher education goals. For more information and resources please visit our Dreamers page (https://www.uoregon.edu/uo-dreamers) and the Immigration FAQs page (http://international.uoregon.edu/immigration_faq ). Remember, when interacting with faculty, staff, and offices around campus you are never required to reveal your status.

Hi everyone, I hope this email finds you all well.
I mentioned at our last board meeting how I was working on organizing a scholarship clinic to be held on Saturday, February 20th to help local high school graduating students from under-represented communities with a competitive scholarship application.
Attached is a flyer with more information and a link to sign up. For those that sign up, we will follow up on February 14th with further instructions.
