Greetings CPSY students,

I hope you are managing these stressful times in healthy ways, and applying a growth mindset as you do it!
For example: Spicy Cheetos are not considered a healthy food group...yet!

This email is about the opportunity to apply for externships at OSU counseling center for next year. OSU calls their externship positions "practica" but for our purposes and language these are externships. As such, and consistent with ANY externship, you are eligible to apply if (a) Your SAP will be complete and passed by finals week in June, (b) your advisor specifically oks this after you discuss your academic, GE, research, and clinical commitments for next year, (c) it fits with the most recent program policy on externships during child and family practicum, and (d) you have completed and passed (or will have by June) the adult practicum.

Applications are due the Friday of spring break. They will conduct 30-40 minute zoom interviews with candidates (so time to practice your impromptus). OSU provides developmental supervision, uses a competency based model, and frames work within a multicultural perspective. See message below from Dr. Beth Zimmerman of OSU:

We encourage all levels of counselors in your program to apply. We do require one year of successful program completion and evidence of multicultural counselor training. Additional criteria are outlined on our website.
