Not sure why SRA cancelled in San Diego but this convention is not cancelling.   Perhaps a lot of SRA Attendees cancelled since that is a more national/international conference??

Dear Esteemed Colleagues,

We understand the growing concern about the coronavirus (COVID-19) and how the COVID-19 outbreak may affect CPA’s Convention in Newport Beach April 23-26, 2020.

We want to assure you that your health and well being are CPA’s top priority. Our leadership team is closely monitoring the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), state and local health department updates regarding COVID-19 and following their recommendations on the appropriate health and safety measures.

Over the weekend, the California Department of Public Health issued guidelines for events organizers regarding mass gatherings and is not recommending cancelling events at this time. With that in mind, there are currently no plans for CPA to cancel or postpone the convention.

As we move ahead with planning convention activities, we will continue to place high importance on implementing procedures that will ensure optimal health and sanitary conditions for everyone onsite during the event.

We recognize that this is a fluid situation. CPA staff and executive board members are in daily contact as the situation evolves. We have extended the early registration rate to March 31st. The hotel room block rate is valid until April 1st and you can cancel without penalty (if you do so more than 72 hours prior to the day of arrival).
