Dear SRA Members and 2020 Meeting Registrants:

Like most of you, the SRA leadership team has been monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19), and, as it continues to spread, our thoughts and hearts go out to all who have been affected. We have heard from many of you and appreciate you reaching out to share your concerns. We also understand there are a number of institutions implementing travel restrictions. Due to the ever-changing situation, the SRA Executive Council has made the very difficult decision to cancel the Biennial Meeting in San Diego (March 19-21, 2020).

We extend our sincere appreciation to Program Co-Chairs Rachel Gordon and Paige Harden along with our President Rob Crosnoe for all of their planning and leadership during this difficult time. The SRA community shares their disappointment in not being able to see this incredible program to fruition next week.

Additionally, many presenters have spent intellectual energy and time preparing to share their research in what was to be an outstanding educational opportunity. For these reasons, we are pursuing ways to keep our members and attendees connected either virtually or by rescheduling the meeting. Please be on the lookout for more information regarding a solution to moving forward with the program "From Genome to Globe" in the future.

If you were planning on attending the SRA Biennial Meeting, here is how the meeting cancelation affects you:

Registration: SRA will be refunding all registration costs to those who registered for the Biennial Meeting. If you have already been issued a partial refund due to cancellation, we will refund those fees as well. We do have to cancel registrations on an individual basis, but refunds will be issued as quickly as possible. Note: SRA membership fees will NOT be refunded due to the meeting cancellation.

Hotel Reservations and Flight/Travel Arrangements should be canceled directly. Please refer to your confirmations for instructions on cancellation.

Thank you all for your engagement and participation in SRA. The Executive Council is continuing to work on alternatives to the meeting and will share these plans soon. We do hope to see you at a future event.
