Postdoctoral Associate Position At UF Division of Psychology at the Department of Psychiatry
The Division of Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Florida College of Medicine is recruiting for psychology postdoctoral fellowship positions for the 2020-2021 training year. The Division of Psychology is searching for candidates with a doctoral degree from an APA-approved graduate program and internship in Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology. In addition to a regular caseload of individual and family therapy patients (comprised of children, teens, and adults), all fellows participate in the assessment and treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and related conditions, inpatient therapy services for children/adolescent/adults, and psychoeducational assessment. Fellows also have the opportunity to learn Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and work toward meeting certification guidelines for this empirically-supported therapy model. Fellows have the opportunity to tailor their training in terms of treatment populations by age range, diagnosis, or treatment approach depending on interests. Our clinic specializes in the treatment of OCD using CBT with exposure and response prevention, the implementation of PCIT with young children with disruptive behavior and related concerns, as well as other treatments such as mindfulness-based interventions, and treatments for eating disorders. Fellows also have the opportunity to become involved in family and group therapy during training.
The Division includes 8 faculty members as well as postdoctoral fellows, interns, graduate students, and undergraduate assistants. The Division's mission includes teaching and mentoring trainees in evidence-based clinical service and research with diverse trainees from Clinical, Counseling, and School Psychology. The Division is located in the Department of Psychiatry which allows for frequent inter-disciplinary collaborations and joint learning experiences with residents and fellows in Child and Adult Psychiatry. The duties of this position are primarily clinical. However, supervision, teaching, and research opportunities are available for those who are interested. Fellows may opt for a second year of training, although this option is not guaranteed. The fellowship takes place within a major medical center in a pleasant community with a modest cost of living and a high quality of life. Salary is competitive and includes attractive benefits.
