Subject: International Student Clinical Supervision Research
Dear Dr. McWhirter,
I was wondering if you could forward the following research requests to students in your program who might be eligible.
Thank you so much. The research request is below.
***
My name is Chi W. Yeung, I'm a Counseling Psychology doctoral candidate at the University of Iowa. My colleagues and I are conducting a study regarding experiences with clinical supervision among international counseling psychology doctoral students who are non-native English-speakers. We hope that the results of this research may better support international counseling psychology trainees and better inform supervisors and faculty members who work with these students.
To be eligible to participate, you must self-identify as 1) a graduate student in a Counseling Psychology program; 2) an international student; 3) a non-native English-speaker, and 4) a practicum student or psychology intern who has at least 1 semester-long clinical training under supervision.
This study involves participating in an interview (30-40 minutes via video/audio-conferencing call) and a brief survey (10-20 minutes). If you participate in both interview and survey, you will receive a check ($25).
If you are interested in participating in this study, please click on the link below to access a brief screening survey: https://tinyurl.com/supervision-research<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/tinyurl.com/supervision-research__;!5W9E9PnL_ac!Wf_g9FBDpPk3G_64b7OXyjEK6lofEfXxvydPZQ8FQzSbXC3JLmva6vzIU7EYCihfLg0$>
We appreciate your time and consideration. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, or suggestions.
Sincerely,
Chi on behalf of the research team consisting of Yun Garrison, M.A., Sunny Yu Chak Ho, M.A., Chi Yeung, M.A., Jay Hong, M.A., Yeji Son, M.A., & Charles Bermingham, Ph.D.
