Dear Alda Science Communication trained colleagues,

We are very excited that Theresa May will be offering a course on improvisation for science communication during spring term.  Molly Blancett and Lewis Taylor will also make guest appearances to work with students on distilling their message.

Enrollment is still really low, and we would love your help in sharing this course offering with your undergraduate and graduate students, sharing a little about your experience with the Alda training with students, and encouraging students to register.

SCIENCE LITERACY PROGRAM & THEATRE ARTS - SPRING 2019

IMPROVISATION FOR SCIENCE COMMUNICATION

Tuesday / Thursday 2-3:50pm

For STEM students looking for a fun and relaxed environment in which they can develop their skills and comfort in talking about their scholarship/research for any audience.


Taught by Dr. Theresa May, Assoc. Professor of Theatre Arts, one of UO’s Alda affiliate trainers at UO, she has facilitated the improvisation component of our science communication trainings for faculty, staff and graduate students for the past three years, and was part of the original team who traveled to Stony Brook University for the Alan Alda Center’s “Train the Trainers” bootcamp program.
